Origins

Prosper was borne out of Dave and Rob working in Gareth Morgan’s family office and realising there was an opportunity to extend what they did there to other family offices and investors. Gareth has a very high level of trust and confidence in Dave and Rob, having worked with them for almost 20 years, and was happy to back them into the new venture by becoming Prosper’s first client.

Liza has worked with Rob and Dave for over a decade. She brings her unparalleled networks to Prosper, and a career of delivering extraordinary service to her clients.

Trust and Independence

We aspire to be our clients’ trusted advisors. Trust is built over time with each client, but can be demonstrated in that Prosper’s founders have a pre-existing record of establishing long-term relationships with UHNWs.

Another cornerstone of trust is ensuring that the goals of Prosper and the client are aligned. As a starting point our only source of income is the single transparent management fee we charge clients. We avoid the conflicts of interest that come with cross-selling other services such as in-house investment products and we will pass on at cost the sharp commission rates we have negotiated with our brokers. We are free to choose the best-of-breed partners most suited to meet our clients’ needs.

Building a Business founded on Values

Over their careers, the founders have seen what makes an organisation fire on all cylinders and what makes them slow and atrophy. Building on these experiences they share a burning desire to build a great company, one that staff are proud to work for, clients are delighted to belong to and where doing the right thing is a central tenet of all that they do.

At Gareth Morgan Investments, we had a large sign on the wall – “Don’t Lose the Bloody Stuff”. This was a constant reminder that the money we were managing belonged to our clients, real people who placed their trust in us to look after their life savings, and that we had to carry out this duty responsibly and prudently. The ‘client first’ mantra has been burned into our DNA.
